andrew just sent me this flier tonight. i had been waiting to mention this show until i had something to post. i'm really excited to be a part of this and to get to show along side the other artists involved. generally i don't like theme shows, but this is pretty cool. if you're in westlake next month check it out.

hiatus on hiatus

took a break from taking a break. but effort still takes effort. stencils are easy enough though.

sometimes promises to yourself are the hardest to keep. painted a fucking fence.

out with the old

haven't updated in a while. lack of motivation. lack of effort. nothing new worth mentioning. got caught up and couldn't catch up. finally abandoned the old studio.

somewhere between the things that keep me up and the things that hold me down i found time to shoot photos for some new pieces. think there's a theme developing.

the AW guys have been working real hard to get their new art space/boutique open and are offering me a show. doors are scheduled to open early february. it will be the first chance to show/see the new work i've been laboring on in secret. more info on that as the time comes.

been getting ready for my next solo show. the date is still tentative so i'll post more about that later. i'm keeping most of the new work under wraps until the opening, but here are two for now.

was really excited to get the opportunity to shoot some photos of apnea for a print. numbered edition of 40, acrylic on newsprint 24"x36".
also did a special numbered edition of 6 on 25"x38" 80lb white paper; five of which will be available exclusively through lithium picnic to help with their legal fees.

circles and intellect

received yesterday this flier for the "don't sleep" group show that opened on the 16th at premium goods, featuring nobody i know. i've posted pics from other shows they've done at premium goods in the past. but for the 10 (+/-) out of towners that read this blog and don't know about premium goods, it's a sneaker boutique for all your super limited crazy colored nikes that also hosts outsider and street level group art shows every couple months. i don't know who did the flier, but couldn't help but notice the use of the GIVE UP razor image in the collage. without permission or having my work affiliated with the show in any way. i can't really get down on premium goods because i know the owners have a "curator" for the shows and have little more to do with them than the lending of their walls. but what is especially humorous is the fact that their former, and i assume current, curator - who's work is also featured in this most recent show - told me when they first started toying with this art installation idea that my work was too dark and "apathetic" to ever be shown there. i guess not enough so to keep them from using it to get people to their openings though. but PG is still a cool place to get clown shoes, if that's what you're into.

seagulls and ten crowns

according to this blog and word about town and my own admission, my efforts on the street have been lacking. and instead concentrated on tshirts and band stuff and things for other people. about the best i've come up with or done anything with lately are these seagull stickers. which admittedly aren't the best thing i've ever done.

but other things have been a lot more important or interesting:








i did go over to kylie from stray dog (palehorse post from september) and caleb from ten crowns house and was reminded of these ten crowns posters i did a couple years ago. color did the script. 11x17 two color print on heavy stock. i think there were 80 or 100.
